LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) Trainees at the University of Pittsburgh are tasked with linking current public policy (e.g., ADA or IDEA) and advocacy in a State Your Case (SYC) project. Goals of the SYC project include infusing advocacy and policy knowledge into practice, providing essential knowledge about familial and caregiver rights to the general public, and engaging students with professionals across the many fields that work with young children and children with disabilities.
